Weeks Solution 70WS

That is defiantly an ACE R/C kit. I guess there was a lawsuit as Ace didn't want to pay royalties to Kermit Weeks , so they just ripped off Miles. So they must of changed enough to avoid copyright laws.
Bob Knows a little more about it. I forgot about the suit.
Bob doesn't do build pics.

Well im getting ready to attach the firewall to the fuse sides and that brings up a question.
The print does not show any down and right thrust and there is no mention in the instructions. Any suggestions?
I am thinking 1deg down and 1deg right should be a good starting point on the first few flights and fine tuning from there.

I have a Ken B. Reed Falcon that was originally set up zero, zero. It flies much better with 2.5 degrees right thrust. I'm curious about wing incidence on the Weeks as well. Again my Falcon was set up with both wings at zero. Flies much better with the top at zero and the bottom at +1 degree.

Reed Falcon as I bought it. Made a thrust and incidence adjustment before deciding to recover it.
As she is right now, just need to spray some clear on a few parts and cover the wings.
Reed Falcon is 72" span, 22lbs and mine is powered by a 3W 70cc twin. I think the Reed and the Weeks are quite simular.

I was thinking of his HUGE one with the 7.3 D&B. My bad.
Yank, This is how we are flying the Miles Reed ones w/ 0-0 on the firewall. It pulls the vertical very well. It rolls on a line and will knife edge forever.I was flying IMAC with it.
I don't know if Ace changed anything or not other than adding more parts.

Im setting the wings and firewall as the print shows. It can always be adjusted later if need be.
So far this is where im at on the fuse. Never licked building this type actually. Such a PITA to get straight and keep straight. Lest for me it seems to be.
Kind of thinking of putting the servos forward to keep the weight forward using one rudder servo pull/pull and one elevator servo splitting to both elevator half's.

You can go with the pull-pull on the rudder but I would still go w/ two servos on the elevators. It is easier to set up to get both sides exact.
Miles made up jigs to build the fuselage and align the wings.
Just wait till you get to covering.....
Does this have a fiberglass cowl? The originals are planked build ups. So are the wheel pants.

Is the Falcon built the same as the solution?
Covering it in the pattern i want to steal from another thread looks fairly easy for the wings but the fuse will be a challenge i think. It will require a seam between two colors and i have never had much luck having a seam of a open bay and the sides are pretty much all open bay but i dunno see what i can figure out. Might need to change plans for my covering job

That is true, Miles did not like foam wings. I helped his friends cut out foam wings for his Extras as they never built any bipes. I'm flying one of his Extra 260S that Ken Baker (of D&B Engines) built and Bob finished (my custom graphics).
As you can it's a built up wing. Another thing he stressed was using nylon bolts. He actually flew through a tree snapping a wing bolt and managed to land it safely. He was firm in his ways and ideas.
