limodune, looking good. I like the fan. Had mine out to the field yesterday, but too much cross wind to risk it. I've learned I don't have to fly if the conditions are too bad. Planes last longer...

Looks like you have her flying great. Also looking great. My FW 190 is a little more "war weary" but still flies great. Spring Air retracts and a DLE 30 that is more power than needed, but needed the...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Too bad it is discontinued, its a nice flying airplane because of its light weight. Mine with a DLE 30 weights about 11.5 lbs. Not bad for a 70 wing span warbird. They were however over priced...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Ok, good to know where I can get the T88. Flew the FW again and had a less than perfect landing that did "test" the gear. No problems, it held together. Out of town now, can't wait to get home and...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I flew the 190 a couple off weeks ago. It was too windy for me. Made two approaches and went around then bounced once and went around again. Next time I landed. The landing was an "arrival" on the...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I finally got to fly the FW 190 with the Xoar 17-8 three blade prop. The DLE 30 was turning it 7,500 rpm?? Maybe the cold weather? Anyway it flew fine, plenty of power and looks more scale I think....

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Does anyone know why the FW 190's gear is angled in like it is? The Germans didn't do anything without a reason. It seems if the gear went straight down they could have gotten the ground clearance...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I broke down and bought a Xoar 17-8 three blade. Turns 7,250 rpm. Feels like good power. I think this prop will work good and looks scale. I'll post and report flight performance.

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Sparky, let me know which prop and what static rpm you are getting. I'll wait for you to test it before I spend more money.

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I have given up on the search for a three blade prop for now. Had an Xoar 18-10 two blade wood prop. Thought I would try it. Static rpm, about 7,000 with the DLE 30. More than plenty of power, also...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Well, I flew my 190 again with the 18-8 three blade prop again. Within a few degrees of same temperature as last time. Didn't mess with needles since it did ok last time. But this time the engine...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I got the 18-8 three blade Xoar prop from Valley View RC. Finally got a decent day. Max static rpm with the DLE 30 was 6,600. Less than I was expecting. But the airplane flew ok. Good take off power,...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Sparky, I have a set of 85 degree WingSpan electric retracts in a 15.9 lb CMP Zero. About 50 flights on them off a grass field and so far they are doing good. I'm using 7/16" dia. forked Robart...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Valley View RC also carries the same Xoar three blade composite props, but they are expensive. They recommend the 18-8 three blade. I ordered one and will see. They think the 17-8 three blade would...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Troy Built has 17-10 Beila three blade but no 17-8 three blade or at least not that I can find.

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I checked out the XR prop. Says "electric" so am afraid to use it. Don't want a prop coming apart at 7,000 rpm. Only 3 blade 17-8 I have found is Zinger Three Blade. Maybe I'll get one and see how it...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I though the XR wood props were electric only. Anyway, I tuned the engine with the 17-10 three blade and was getting 6,000 rpm. Took off ok but was too lean. Landed and put about 1/4 turn rich on the...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I have the 74 degree trunions installed in the retracts and have had several flights since. Engine is running fine and the DLE 30 is more than enough power. I installed a Beilla? 3 blade prop and...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I think my DLE 30 was running hot. After a couple of circuits around the field at full power, it started to sag. Was able to land ok. The engine smelled hot. I blocked in a little more of the intake...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

I found elevators not quite even. I adjusted. Also reduced control throws and added negative expose. Plane flew great. Did all the war bird manuvors, no problems. Plane was stable at full throttle...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

It took 5 or 6 clicks of right trim and some down trim. Looked at elevators and they are straight. No noticable down deflection. Have not put in any mixes yet re flaps extention. If its still too...

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70

Had the maiden flight today. A bit windy with off and on shifting cross wind. Took off ok, only about 25 ft at half throttle at most. It needed right ailron trim and down trim. Seemed very touchy in...
