Engine turns counterclockwise(looking at from front). If sensor slides same way, ignition retards. If advance needed then sensor should be moved against rotation.(clockwise).

Jeff shaking may signal you either timing error or slight out of valve adjustment. Timing error may signal you either cam timing or ignition timing. I would play with them.

Great report.Why dont you prefer tarmac for take off instead of grass?Im not sure prop changes will need carb. readjustment.I also agree with you 18-8
may give better performance.

I dont know what ° of advance is given for 38CC 4 stroke NGH but I would play with hall sensor to check if I can have better run.Most probably static advance should be about 28° before TDC like  most...

That nipple on pic is for drainage.I think you can fit a nipple to add a line to keep model clean.
I guess your engine has 3 rings on piston.So, longer break in and more care.

Gents all you forgot is all those are still brand new,2 ringed  and steel linered engines.That means they need quite hours to break in(both rings and also liner will match unlike hardened...

How did you check this? It seems it cant be possible a needle bearing to loose after several hours run without throwing a needle.

What is the weight of your plane total?You should find the optimum diameter  and pitch of the suitable prop accordingly.
