I can't get one for a while, but I plan on it.
I find it odd they bent the fuel inlet tube over and pointed it up. That would tend to make the fuel line make a large loop to the carb on the engine.
Good thing they sold out already, so I don't have to fret about getting one for a while.

I noticed some people had posted videos of it already, so a few people are flying them so far.

My thoughts are this is a big magnum engine that was set up for glow. now it will be gas with no increase in cooling fins. will have to run rich and dont think it could be cowled in.

Saito didn't increase the cooling fin area on their gasser four strokes either. But I don't know if anyone cowls the gasser Saitos in or not.

Doesn'tgas and nitro run in the same temperature range?Thefore no change needed in the fin's or cowl application's?

Gas doesn't give the cooling effect that running methanol through it does. The intake manifold on 4-strokes will get frost on them sometimes.

There should be a YouKu video showing while running on bench they are checking temp continuously.I cant put exact link because that YouKu is a real trouble when I try to open.

Gasoline doesn't provide a cooling effect that methanol does inside of the engine. Methanol runs at a much more rich air to fuel ratio and has a wide range for the ratio too. Gasoline on the other hand needs to be used at a much more lean air to fuel ratio and the range of the ratio is much more narrow. But in any case the gas engines tend to operate at a somewhat more hot temperature than the glow engine does. But if you are using a really good quality oil in the engine the higher operating temperature isn't a problem. But operating the engine inside of a cowl on a airplane may require more careful consideration for air flow and ducts to route the air over the engine good too.

It is somewhat amazing how much cooling methanol can have in a glow engine. When you look a at some of the racing engines, they tend to have little to no cooling fins on them and they tightly cowl the engines in as well. But the engines run OK like that.

Here is the temperatures I was measuring on a NGH 9cc gas engine, at the base of the glow plug, when it was 82 degrees F outside a while back. In the heat of the summer when the ambient temperatures are higher, the engine's temperature goes up accordingly too.

It look's like the rod is equiped with needle bearings, that said, I would gladly snatch one up at $380, much better than 1000+ for a simular size Saito! Hell, run it on gas/glow mix if you want some extra cooling

One of the videos of them testing the engine had it turning a 20x10 wood unknown brand prop at 5,500 rpms.

I would assume the cost would be about $20 to $30 more in the USA than from HiModel in China.

I would pick one up if I could find one that was not "OUT OF STOCK".

you ca only fit X amount of cooling fin area on a given mass of engine.

First test on a production unit today:

GREAT ENGINE !!!!!
Include the engine mounting plate, RCEXL ignition, allen wrench, RCEXL standard CM6 spark plug,
My only guess is to include a 120 degrees spark plug cap. Better fit than 90 degrees supplied.

I've dismantled all parts to take pictures and check quality : awesome..
Needle bearings on both sides of con-rod, a custom WT1022 carb, very well made the intake mainfold , with two nipples, one for the oil from cranckcase and one for carb pressure pulses. Many interesting mechanical solutions, and NONE of the parts are from Magnum or a glow existing engine. All parts are designed from scratch. Like many others products of differents manufacturers ,they looks the same ....

Have you looked at the rocker box, do the valves run in guides? If so, do they look like bronze, I'm currious as to how well the exaust valve will hold up.

definitely one of the more interesting offerings from China in a while

I'd play with this one and see how it turns out.

Hi Pascual,

Wll you be flying this soon? I'm interested to know if it develops enough thrust for a 2x2 pattern application.

Yes that is true but you can make them wider ie: more aluminum to heat up and more area cool with.

But the amount of heat needed to be absorbed by the air is in proportion to the power produced and the efficiency of the engine. If the mechanical efficiency is similar and power produced is similar then heat rejection is similar....

Glow ones ran warm. Then the gas one will run hotter is all I am saying.
