I have swapped out the P-120 in my UF for a KT-140 and am rechecking CG. Does anybody know why the UF addendum says to measure CG at 220-225 from wing root with gear UP? I think I have always done...

Jeremy, yes I checked the manual, but didn't know if the 20-30mm was okay with the bellmouth in front of the tailpipe.

A topic I haven't seen addressed: I am changing from JC P-120 to Kingtech K-100G (sold the 120 to go all diesel) and the CARF UF manual only addresses JetCat mounting in terms of mounting as far...

Jeremy,
I sold the P-120 to get away from propane start and go all Kingtech. I am now running the K-80 and K-140 on diesel.

Thanks, I appreciate the input - valuable info. I fly at 6500' here in Colorado, so a little more thrust can be a good thing, but I don't have the need or talent for very high speed.

Tumbler,
Are you happy with the UF performance with the K-100? Do you think you would prefer the K-140? I sold the P-120 in mine and am not sure which Kingtech to replace it with.

Gus

Paul,
Thanks, had sort of settled on the K-140 earlier, but after reading your comment on the K-100, thought I would ask.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I sold the P-120 that was in my UF and am debating between the K-100G and K-140G. Obviously you are happy with the K-100; did you consider the 140? I'm at 6500' MSL here in Colorado.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Thanks guys - K-140 it is. I am not a speed freak, mostly because I'm not good enough, but I do NOT want to be underpowered here at 6500' on a hot day.

Gus

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I am going to change turbines in my UF so that I have all Kingtech turbines. Any recommendations between the K-100 versus K-140 for the UF? Half the flying will be in Colorado at 6500' MSL and half...

Ian,
Congratulations on the save - with or without Dave's help you did a great job. And second, it is refreshing to read credit being given to someone else.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I did not intend to offend you, but yes, this is a very UF friendly forum. You will find the jet community UF experts (I'm not one of them) following this thread. But, if every new UF owner asked...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Not to sound harsh, but there are 121 pages of posts here and the subject of flap deflection, crow/no crow has been discussed thoroughly. Probably best for you to wade through the posts instead of...

I too have the green/white/blue. Can you tell me what brand/color of paint you used on your UF?

I'm on Andy Kane's email distro for sales and he is selling the white/green/blue CARF UF for $1990 ($300 off) while supplies last. Don't know about shipping.

Yes, that might help! And could throw in a little night, IFR if my focus waned! Can still get sweaty palms thinking about the night landings.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Wow. I make one comment in six months on the topic of UF landing techniques and get flamed. Lesson learned - read and learn but don't bother to post anything.
