RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Children,

Given this thread has only just become straight after a Hogwarts moment, shall we take this 'off stage'? I've already had a 'stoking' email from the chief gimper and nudger with his...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Mr Bird, there will be no more invites to Mass in Hertfordshire for you. Have you arranged a working party for 'the local grass site' to insert the divots? - I'd hate to get my stick stuck in one of...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Colin,

Not a bad scheme for a UF. Good colour contrast top/bottom. BUT, why the black canopy frame? Why is it CARF/you go to the effort to design a new scheme and then take, what looks like,...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Ha ha! You think you've got CARF gear problems - you ought to buy the Corsair, that's been out for years - twice the price and four times worse!

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Given that the UF has been available for just over two years now it would be interesting to know how many have been sold worldwide. Do you know Dave?

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Saddle tanks are a very tight in the UF. Below is a picture of my installation. I'm not too sure you will need to glue the tanks into the fuselage - seems somewhat overkill given their extremely snug...

No, just some of us don't live on here and trawl each post. I'm pretty sure I put something on this thread about crow many months ago - no time to look as got other matters in life to attend...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Just try both methods and find which one suits you, and your site.

I have used both methods on my reasonably well flown UF. Firstly, my site is 110 metres (c350 feet) of very short smooth grass...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Rob,

A very good method of establishing correct CofG is as follows - Fly the airplane at a medium to high speed, pitch to 45 degrees up and then roll inverted and let go. If the airplane...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Chris,

Tank hardware are the items supplied by CARF. I have used large Festo metal barbed T pieces to couple up the tanks.

I've just filled them and did it at such a slow rate the Orbit was...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I have just retro fitted the conformal tanks in the UF. It is a very tight fit and requires some work to ensure that the tanks aren't 'squeezed' by the bypass, inlet coupler or fuselage sides. It is...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

All round the 120 is an excellent proposition. A 140 is a nice touch giving that little bit extra. For out and out performance then the 160 is great too. I've not seen a 180 UF go yet - I may be very...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I've done plenty of positive and negative flicking with the UF. Negative is very good. Rotation, at acceptable entry speeds, is high and stopping the flick is very easy. Getting a clean 1 turn neg...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I now have 23 flights on my UF and in that time have experimented with obatining a good 'landing' set up. After much trial I have settled on the following set up. 3" flap, 4mm of crow and removal of...

Dave,

Leave them to it. We know it works fine, just like all Flash owners and the majority of potential ones.

Mine's a good'un and works perfect.
