Behzad. the CG Indicated in the manual is WRONG. it should be 6-7cm NOT 10-11 as indicated. The MB 339 is a wonderful flying model!

Thank you Bob. The first one i am finishing is 90mm EDF with 8 cell Schubeler fan. It is almost done so your information is just on time. I was looking at the back fins last night. Are yours holding up? I wish they were made of G10 or something like that.

I think the 8 cell setup is perfect, I had moved a 12 cell setup from another model and it was too heavy. I stripped the covering of my ventral fins and glassed them using Eze coat resin. But If I did it again I would use epoxy resin as it is much harder.
They don't really extend beyond the bottom of the fuse so they should hold up. I taped them into position and glued the pin from the inside then ran a small fillet of glue along the fuse joint from inner side, worked well.

These are hard to repair so I suggest that you beef them up now. I aslo found that the wheels and struts where not up to much so Got some jet 1A legs and Robart wheels. Nice model with the X45. No need for flap on take off with this engine and only half flap on landing. Also bring it in with a tickle of throttle as the rsidual thrust is so slow it can slow down too much.

Thank you John. I took the gears out and added locktite and checked the block but didn't look at the joints to the spars. Overall, i have noticed that the wing sheeting is very very soft so was feeling that a hard landing might cause issues. the first one i would be flying will be EDF and at this point, all my flying is off grass so it would be interesting to see. I remember seeing a set of nice Landing Gear legs for this plane somewhere but have not been able to find them again. I will check the ones you mentioned.

Hi Behzad,
The Xicoy ones may be worth looking at. I got a set for a customer (for a different model) and they looked and felt really good.

Interesting, orginal was 11 mtrs so that comes out at 1/3.37 which is strange?

Bit bigger than the Tomahawk version.

Many thanks,
