With all the fuel and oil flying around in that area, I wouldn't think the JB Weld would get a good grip, even after you cleaned it.

Are you really starting to see some oxidation buildup after just a day or so?

I haven't noticed anything like that on my 260, but it's a gas motor, and the fuel doesn't attract water like nitro...
