It's time to start sheeting the fusalage. Although the plans don't show the horizontal stab. at 0 degrees, Dave Platt tells you this in the written part of his instructions.

Hey Boyd,
You're making excellent progress and the captions are extremely informative. I do have one question, what are you using for filler, on my screen it looks like light spackling putty?

Thanks
Larry

The alignment of the wing process is one of the most challenging parts of building. There are so many variables. The words "Cause & Effect" comes to mind. By changing one thing will cause an effect on one or more other items. I'm sure there may be other ways to accomplish this process. I would love to hear from anybody else as to their methodology.

Sorry but I checked all my images of the Trojan and there are none. If you want to make your cowl flaps adjustable or you want to see the engine and scale exhaust set up I can help you there.

I just finished a 1/4 scale T-34 Mentor and before that a 1/3rd scale Grumman Lynx. Right now I'm in the covering stage on a Ziroli P-38. I have used 55 feet of 10" wide Flite Metal and still need to cover one of the booms.[X(] You can see some of my past build here.http://www.rcuniverse.com/community/...ery&memid=6805

Dean,

Wow. You are a master builder. I'm interested in the P-39's. Any info on the plans, etc.? Also tell me more about the flite metal. Where do you get it, and is it complicated applying. Thanks.

Boyd.

YAT-28E,

Is the basic design the same as the T-28. Are you taking the Platt plans and modifying them?

Maser, The P-39 was built from Jim Pepino plans I ordered from Scale plans and photo service which is no longer around. The kits can still be purchased from most of the major kit cutters. The one I built is the 80" version. The cowl can be purchased from one of the fiberglass companies like Precision Fiberglass products.
I always purchased Flite metal from Bill Clayman at Flite metal .com untill I recieved a roll which was inferior of what he was previously sending me so now I purchase it from SR Batteries, According to their instructions I use an unorthodox method of measuring out the panels for this material. The panels are put on the model the same as full scale. With some practice it's not hard.

In my previous discussion of the wing construction,(POST 54-view of last pic.)I did not notice that W-18 is to wide. It needs to be the same width where it attaches to W-3. Also W-17 should have been attached to the spar with the widest endattached to the spar. I broke them off and sanded W-18 then re-attached them as they should have been.

I should have posted this site earlier.  Another reference site for the build plus some interesting facts.

Larry,

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. You are right about that link. I looked back through the build and found where you had sent that to me. I forgot it was in this build. Its a great source. I'm using JR8711, 347oz torque for the control surfaces, (overkill) and JR 8101 for trottle, and JR 331 micro for "other" non criticalfunctions.
