Thank you Larry,
Yes, I bought the kit around 82 I believe. I found it at Sheldon's hobby shop in San Jose, CA. I've kept it in an environmentally controlled room so it looks just as good today as it did the day I bought it.

Okay Guys,
Here is one of the reasons I'm not thrilled with this hobby LOL
Just finished cutting out the servo hatches and gear door on one side of the wing, imagine my surprise that it's short!!!!!
I took the dimensions off the plans, BIG mistake, so now I will do a graft to add the 1" plus to the doors.
Good thing I have all of Boyd's pix to help me out or I'd really be up the creek.

Boyd,
Seemed to forget that age old adage...
The problem was that the wing was already sheeted and I assumed (big mistake) that the sierra gear would be the same as the Platt gear, who knew.
Now I have to try and figure out how to temporarily attach the door to the gear leg so I can get the right measurement, it's a puzzlement I tell ya.
Did you have to shorten the axle to fit into the wheel well??
Thanks again for all your help and photos
Larry

Chic,
Doing some mod's to a Comp ARF P-51, fixing some damage to Noah's F7F, but have a Grumman Hellcat that is 75% completed, so will have this one ready for the summer season.
I also have to complete Charlie's Grumman Tracker. A twin engine Navy submarine patrol plane. This was a design that has not been marketed yet and has not been test flown.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I'm looking at you Avenger site also. All looking good.
Boyd.

Here are the pix of the repair to lengthen the hear doors. this is the first one, will need to do the same for the other door.
Noticed I will have to add a small piece where I trimmed it too short on the side
Add;l to follow

Larry, know that with my Johnny O's 1/5th scale T-28 next in the que, I have certainly been following your T-28 build. Like the Avenger, you, Noah, Peter, and the others have saved me from many hours of grief and countless mistakes, by following all of your builds. Boyd is right of course, your skills should be put to further use. Looking good my friend. Chic

Chic,
5 layers of 1 ounce cloth, they still seem a bit flimsy and am trying to figure out how to stiffen them without adding too much weight. The pix behind is one of 2 airplane posters that hang on the wall.
Wife would like me to build another P38, one of my new friends here wants to do Charlie's AD5 4 seat skyraider.
I want to do the C119, I would love to build a Connie, my favorite plane of all time but I don't have the room for it.
My new friend can also make me the landing gear for the C119 or Connie but I need to finish the Trojan AND get the Avenger in the air this year.
Tell Shirley that whatever name you use for me it's nowhere what my wife sometime calls me and she shouldn't worry cause brothersw talk to each other in that ilk
Stay well my friend and give DC a very wide berth on Friday, I hear Rev. Sharpton will be there with thousands of his closest supporters

Chic,
Just checked out the other T28 site, did you realize that that kit was from Iron Bay and is no longer in existence?
KMP was selling a T28 years ago that looked excellent but they have now turned to almost exclusively foam.
Like printing this hobby is dwindling in the I want to build category and looking for instant gratification seems to be the wave of the future, a shame that my grandsons generation will barely be able to turn a screw driver no less know what one is

Chic,
Thanks for the info. I used 5 layers of boat fiber glass for my epoxy parts. Not sure of the ounces but makes a pretty solid part. You can buy it at the automotive stores.
