My kit came with gear, lights installed. It came with GDW servos but they were not installed. I used some of the GDW servos but used promodeler servos on ailerons and elevators
The jetcat SPT10 was a drop in however the geometry was off a little. The spinner backplate was kinda far from fuse front. I used 4mm spacers to get the spinner closer to fuse. Also when the gear box is bolted to front support, the sliding turbine mounts are slightly above the turbine rails. I made angled G10 plates that are glued under the turbine mounts to the turbine rails. These shims are flush with the mounts and as the system heats up with allow the mounts to slide under the jetcat supplied sliding mounts

Plywood extensions to support electronic tray placed on both sides. Also used 3/8 x 1/2 inch hardwood supports glued horizontally under front and rear supports. To increase rigidity of the tray (gyro will be mounted on it) I fiberglassed the top of the tray with lightweight cloth and resin. Also added some reinforcement under the tray where gyro will sit to keep out any unwanted vibrations

Starting the wiring. Rx Battery cables suspended from a releasable mount inserted into CB320. Control surface servo extensions are secured

Rear control servo extensions secured

Retract, brake, and light wires from the wings. Think will make a hole in the black fuel tank cover, place a rubber grommet. Then run wires thru the grommet and secure retract and light controllers on the fuel tank cover

Roy, my pc-21 is on the way and I have been looking over props. There are two props that stick out to me except one of them has alot less pitch on it then the other one.

At first I was eye balling the Falcon 5 blade and then I saw the Biela 5 blade but it says the pitch is like half of the falcon. What prop are you putting on yours?

Steven Westwind
i bought everything from Chief Aircraft, by bundling they gave me a discount that included the 5 blade falcon. You should see what the manual of the turboprop you will use recommends.

I will give you a tip. First thing to do when you start working inside the fuselage, tether the canopy to the left side of the fuselage so it can’t flip over. I inadvertently let the canopy flop over a couple of times. It is a heavy canopy and got a couple of chips of paint knocked out on the right canopy frame. You can avoid this by tethering the canopy

Guldukat, you put on a clinic on how to fly the XXL PC-21. Great job. You have whet my appetite to get mine up this Spring.
thanks for posting that video

Photo from rear of upper nose strut. I zip tied the 2 landing light wires to rear of strut

The servo lead from nose steering servo runs straight up and over tray to servo distribution box. To the right you will see the landing light wires tethered to the retract mount wood. That keeps the wires away from nose steering servo arm and the nose strut can cycle without the wires hanging up.

1/3.5~1/3 Scale 22" Tall Modern Jet Pilot is what I used
2X lipo 3200mah and 3s life 2100mah - usually gives me about 6 flights (11-13mins each) and then I recharge.

Pilot in my 1:3.5 hawk. I think came from Tomahawk when I ordered the hawk. Not sure if available anymore. Pretty sure will be a good fit for PC-21 but actually haven’t tried it yet. The glue holding down both seats in PC-21 did not hold during shipping and had broken free from cockpit tub during shipping. Only damage was some scratches on canopy

Guldukat
questions regarding lights
1. Looks like you must use receiver channel(s) plugged into navigation light controller to make lights work. Just plugging a battery into the controller without receiver input for landing lights or nav lights will not allow them to turn on? I assume just a -100 to +100 gain will work?
2. Looking up instructions for light controller online says do not plug more than 2 lights into any 3V channel yet according to wind RC manual, all 4 landing lights get plugged into 1 channel and all 3 strobe lights get plugged into one channel. Is this a problem?
