Thanks,

Standard Xcalibur or the PLUS model? I could use a set of bags for a standard size one. Shipping to Arlington TN USA 38002

Default New Xcalibur finished!

Just finished a new Xcalibur build with Thunderbird scheme. Electron retracts and electric brakes. Kingtech K85G2 with telemetry and Kingtech smoke pump. Custom fuel/smoke tank from CM Jets. Spektrum AR12310T receiver. Spektrum, JR and Hitec servos. Painted the interior and engine duct work. Built custom wiring harnesses and servo extensions. I think it turned out nice. Looking forward to good weather so we can do the maiden flight.

Finally got a break in the weather that aligned with time off from work. Did the maiden flight on this new airplane yesterday (Thursday). Flew great! Plenty of power, got off the grass well, minor aileron trim. Success!

First flights are always exciting.

Great equipment makes for a trouble free maiden flight. Spektrum radio and receiver, Kingtech Turbine, Kevlar Fuel and Smoke tank from CMJets, Electron Retracts and brakes.

what make and model of on board action cameras are you guys using? , Dave the video of your Xcalibur + with 2 cameras looks great.

I have a gopro hero 4 but it seems too bulky to mount above the stab, I mean , can it disrupt too much of the laminar flow as to cause a crash? , or it's ok

I have been using the little Mobius HD camera, with great success. No trim change, and for $90, quality is incredible! Here's one of my videos from a few years ago.

Hi all Xcalibur pilots,

While we are switching to a new ecommerce engine, you can still get your Xcalibur and parts from Banana Hobby.

6 CH JSM Thunderbirds Xcalibur Composite RC Turbine Jet - Radio Controlled Xcalibur Composite - RC

They have them in stock. Just mention that you see my post (From Mike Lin of Global Jet Club), you can get additional 5% off from their discounted price.

I have been busy in different projects, primarily in full scale but would be back in RC soon. Email me if you have any question or orders.

[email protected].

Regards,

Mike

I use these ones from Kingtek Australia. Just make up a set from his website, depending on electric or air.

Default Trunion split - need a replacement

Pulling my xcalibur out of the trailer yesterday to find one of the mains hanging down from the fuse by the brake line...turns out the trunion (like whats pictured here) had split where the bolt tightens up against the strut...the rest of the retract is in fine shape and operating as it should, so rather than purchase an entire new retract, I thought I'd post up here to see if anyone had a spare laying around that they'd ship to Florida. More than happy to pay a fair price for the part and cover the shipping.
Thanks for the consideration,
MikePS

Just figured I'd post up where I am with this one...after maidening on 7/21/17, I hit 129 flights on Oct 6, with 24.5 hrs on my k-100 without a hitch. The only issues I had with this plane have been very minor...the broken trunion (above), I broke both steering cables (replaced with stronger wires), a broken piece of wood where the anti-rotation pin slides in at the front of the right wing (fixed with CA). Looking forward to the next 129 flights!

Mine was just loaded into my friends car and is off to a new home😢. She was a faithful and delightful to fly model and will be sorely missed.

The plus side is she will introduce someone else to the awesome world of RC jet flying and hopefully gives her new owner another 100 plus flights of joy as she did for me.
